We support a variety of food sellers across Alaska. You don't need a commercial kitchen to get started.
Sell eligible food under Alaska’s homemade-food requirements. You may prepare food in a home kitchen, a leased kitchen, or a shared or commercial kitchen.
Restaurants, caterers, food trucks, bakeries, meal-prep, coffee shops, and other operations that hold an applicable food-establishment permit.
Both pathways can sell through Arctic Plate after review. Your operating pathway and where you prepare food are separate facts — a homemade seller may use a home or leased kitchen, and a commercial kitchen alone does not make an operation a permitted food establishment. Requirements vary based on pathway, products, location, and applicable rules. Arctic Plate is a marketplace review; we do not issue permits or certify legal compliance.
This food was made in a home kitchen, is not regulated or inspected, except for meat and meat products, and may contain allergens.
Some foods require extra rules. Standard homemade listings cannot include seafood, shellfish, game meat, reindeer, raw or unpasteurized milk products, nonamenable species, animal-fat oils, controlled substances, or foods made with uninspected meat or unapproved poultry. Meat or poultry items must use eligible USDA-inspected or approved sources. Some categories may be added later for verified licensed vendors only.
